Google Analytics (GA) is a service that generates detailed statistics about website visitors. It can track visitors from all referrers, including search engines, display advertising, pay-per-click networks, email marketing and even links within PDF documents.

GA is the most widely used website statistics service, currently in use at around three fifths of the 10,000 most popular websites, and is aimed at marketers and ‘end-users’ rather than techies.
